Abandoned Places - not to be confused with the Amiga/PC game of the same name - has been around for over 3 years now. One of its founding members left the show rather suddenly after the second incarnation or so, and disappeared from the scene entirely, and voh was left to shape its future. So let's see how that turned out, shall we?

The Design

The designs have been many - the layout mostly the same. Everything is in the "right" place and is mostly where you'd expect it, so it's all very straightforward and intuitive. The only slight annoyance is that each site takes three rows horizontally, due to the member header. Aesthetics of the current design are... nice. Yes, nice is the best word I can find.

The Rules

AP has rules that are easy to understand, though full of lawyer-like pedantics. They are elitist, but don't go overboard.

The Crew

This is probably the high point - all seem dedicated and as importantly are genuinely nice people.

Conclusion

Abandoned Places has long been a favourite ring of the few that visit it frequently, but they need to get their act together to fix the niggling bugs, inject some life back into the whole outfit, and rise as the best. The potential is there - but not the effort, it seems, which is something that needs fixing soon. Design: 75%, Rules: 80%, Crew: 85%. Overall: 80%.
